Minnesota Wild Slide

Published by funnybrew under Uncategorized Edit This

The Wild are following suit with the way of Minnesota sports teams and are slipping into mediocrity… Mikku Koivu continues to prove my belief that he is better than Gaborik, and scored two goals tonight to keep his stellar season going. Gaborik on the other hand continues his tradition of only playing about 1/2 of the season. With the loss the wild dip into second place behind the Canucks, yet are only a point behind. On the bright side we’ll get some pretty easy games coming up here, and the chance to beat the piss out off the Stars on the 26th.

Finally it’s happened to…

Published by funnybrew under Uncategorized Edit This

The Timberwolves finally got back into the wind column today after an 8 game skid. Thanks to another big effort from Al Jefferson who put up 25 points with 8 reebs. The main difference being, this time someone should up down the stretch. And that someone again was Big Al. He had 6 points, and an assist to Mike Miller (who was also clutch) in the closing minutes to secure the 2nd win of the season for the T’wolves. Mike Miller had 10 points 10 Reebs, and 6 dimes playing a really solid game. He is however, still one of the most hideous creatures in the NBA. The surprise of the night was Craig Smith who really played well in the third helping the Twolves keep a sizeable lead into the fourth… the game did get tight in the closing seconds again as the Twolves manage to throw away the lead… but tonight they finally stayed on top.

Another impressive loss for the T’wussies

Published by funnybrew under Uncategorized Edit This

Wow, it’s like deja vu all over again as the timberwolves finally get a good game out of Randy Foye, Al Jefferson cranks out another double double and the Twolves dissappear late in the game to hand one to the Denver Butt Nuggets. I’m saddened a little everytime I see Chauncey Billups as he could very well be the best point guard the Twolves ever had… He had a great second half, and Jefferson’s Late technical fould seemed to be the beginning of the Twolves meltdown. There was a comment prior to last night’s game that made me chuckle a little. Al Jefferson trying to relieve some of the pressure on his coach who has gotta be on the hot seat by now said “It’s not his fault, If anything we should be blamed” … Aren’t the players a direct reflection of who their coach is??? Some of these late game meltdowns have got to be placed on Wittman’s shoulders.

Ice Ice Baby 1234

Well, It’s cold… And the Minnesota Wild are reminding us that at lease two teams in MN don’t suck… The wild repositioned themselves in the free agent market this year, and have made some good moves. Mikko Koivu is leading the team presently with 15 points and Andrew Brunette has been solid also. Gaborik remains overrated… and the Wild are third place in the conference… It’d be nice to see a playoff run from at least one MN team this year, and the Wild might just give us that.  Here’s some afterbirth for thought… The point awarded for an overtime loss in hockey remains the dumbest rule in all of sports… followed closely by a tie in football.

Your Division leading Minnesota Vikings…11/16/2008

Published by funnybrew under Uncategorized Edit This

Are really average. The offense was it’s typical one man show. Frerrote proving he’s not starting material in this league. Showing absolutely no ability to move around in the pocket… And the lack of armstrength and accuracy for the big play downfield. Peterson get’s 19 carries for 85 yards, but was not on the field for the amount of time necessary to make a big impact. Jeff Garcia slimed his way wherever he wanted to agains the Vike’s defense… and although a decent amount of pressure was applied, once he starting scrambling it was all over for a defense who seemed to not understand the concept of a QB spy. Well luckily The Bears did not show up at all against the Packers, and the Vikes are still on top of the division. Baroo!

Another Day, Another T’Wolves loss 11/15/2008

Published by funnybrew under Uncategorized Edit This

I’m actually beginning to be impressed with the way the Twolves manage to lose games… It’s seems pretty much every game I’ve watched this year they’re winning midway through the fourth, and just crap the game away. Tonight was no exception. They get one of the better performances from their best player (Al Jeffereson) Who’s like butter in the low post. Jefferson puts up 26 on 12-16 shooting, but they again struggle to get him the ball late in the game. Rashad Mccants seemingly likes to lose with his inexplicable shot selection late in games. Kevin Love looked astonishingly average… Anyhow, the rest of the team performed up to about par for what you’d expect… which isn’t much.  My final thoughts on the night are this… Randy Wittman probably will not make it through the season as head coach… Kevin Mcchale will somehow hang onto his job… And the Twolves are going to windup high in the lottery again…
